True Identity consists of my recent work. This work illustrates 21st century popular culture - the media, the fashion industry and advertising - using glossy surfaces, billboard effects, caramel colors and cartoon-like characters. The traditional and digital printmaking techniques which are an integral part of my artistic practice also refer to advertising; they use the same methods as printed publications. This allows for the reproduction of single and multiple images in various compinations in my pictures.

My works are all hand-crafted collages in which I manipulate and fuse drawings and/or photographs. I have an ongoing interest in the exploration of the figure. The original image can be transformed by placing it in new surroundings creating a new sense of reality - this fascinates me.

 

The Works in True Identity highlight and focus on the values of Western lifestyles and consumer aesthetics, for example, the issues of multiculturalism and identity in advertising. From a humorous and feminine viewpoint I aim to explore alternative interpretations and approaches to prevailing trends.
